How long will the review take?
The Review is comprised of the following stages:
- Stage 1 - Developing the evidence base (May 2008 - Mid 2009)
- Stage 2 - Preparation and publication of development options for widespread public consultation (Spring/Summer 2009)
- Stage 3 - Public consultation on Options Consultation Document (September - November 2009) – this consultation
- Stage 4 - Analysis of public consultation response and preparation of draft RSS Review document (November 2009 - February 2010)
- Stage 5 - Approve and submit the RSS Review document to the Secretary of State (March 2009)
The following three stages will then be completed by the Government to complete the review process:
- Stage 6 - Examination in public to test the proposals
- Stage 7 - Government publishes proposed changes for public consultation
- Stage 8 - Final RSS Review document published (during 2011)
